switching to natural

I recently took a dive into trading in my normal household products for more “green” ones. If you’re like me, you may have tried a few natural products before and have found them to simply not be as effective. It can be challenging to find products that actually work, so I want to share with you two of my favorite brands.

Dr. Bronner’sIMG_9014

About 6-7 years ago, I developed pesky itchy skin. A few of the doctors I went to suggested that I try using more natural, organic-type soaps. I have tried at least a dozen different kinds of soap, from homemade remedies, to Toms, to other random brands at the health food store and Dr. Bronner’s is hands down my favorite. Dr. Bronner’s has an assortment of scents, which are all desirable and comes in bar or liquid.  I am a bar gal, and have found that many homemade soap bars will disintegrate when they are continuously splashed with water while in the soap dish. My main praise for Dr. Bronner’s is that their bar doesn’t do this!

This brand was referred to me by my sister-in-law. Their products are super affordable and can be bought at pretty much any retail store. They sell just about every household product you could ask for, from laundry detergent to glass cleaner to bathroom cleaner to stove degreaser. I have yet to try a few of these products but I will tell you I love every one I have tried so far. My favorite part is that they smell so good! Sometimes it’s hard to believe that you are even cleaning when you’re using them. Another plus is they are totally safe to use around pets, which is important if you’re like me and have a cat that tries to “help” when you’re cleaning the tub.

I’m a total newb in this department. So, if you have made the switch to natural household products, share your tips with me! What are some of your favorite products?!
